I'm Danielle

A former teacher, life-long learner, Emotions and Self-Care Enthusiast, and lover of high school teaching

The mission at Tools to Teach is simple: to train and support teachers with the tools that really make a difference. The intangible lessons of how to create community, self-awareness, and the power of owning who you are, imperfections and all, as a means of fostering stronger relationships with students grades 7-12.

Why Tools to Teach?

Tools to Teach was really created out of necessity. Over my 12 years in the classroom as a secondary English teacher, I have spent hundreds of hours Google searching appropriate SEL activities, First Day of School Activities, and Community building lessons only to find thousands upon thousands of primary colored, elementary activities and very few, barely effective activities that would truly hold meaning in a 7-12 classroom. In the last few years of teaching it became clear to me that my true passion was helping teachers truly understand what connection teaching really is and how it's the pathway to having any true success in the classroom.

How we can work together...

There are two avenues to take here at Tools to Teach: either the district/department way or the independent way.

If you are a teacher, supervisor, or principal looking to bring meaningful Professional Development to your 7-12 staff from someone who has recently been in the classroom and especially someone who understands how the pandemic has shifted education, click on the "For Districts" page and see the offerings.

If you're an individual teacher who wants to create meaningful connections with your students this year and don't really know how to go about it or how to maintain those connections throughout the year, click on the "For Teachers" page to see the offerings available.

Yes! Send me some Tools, Danielle!

Interested in adding to your tool box? Drop your email below and every Monday at 6am I'll send you a new tool along with tangible strategies and interesting activities you could integrate immediately into your classroom, no prep or legwork required! (Sounds pretty good for those Mondays you're scrambling to catch up from the weekend, doesn't it?)

You're in! Watch out for all the tools coming your way and welcome to the Tools to Teach family!
